A murder investigation was opened by the Bourg-en-Bresse prosecutor's office after the discovery of the lifeless body of a woman on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday at the edge of a wood near a small village in the 'Ain, according to the prosecution.
The 52-year-old victim left his home in Salavre on Tuesday afternoon to go for a walk.
She was found dead in the night a few kilometers away, near a forest, by relatives worried not to see her return and who had started looking for her.
