Nearly 2,500 Covid-19 patients were hospitalized in intensive care this Saturday, October 24, and 233 new serious cases have been admitted to these services in the past 24 hours, according to Public Health France.

Health officials have also announced that 45,422 new cases have been detected in the past 24 hours, and that the test positive rate now stands at 16%.
The death toll has grown with 138 new deaths.
If the daily number of new intensive care admissions is down compared to Friday, the total number of people placed in sheaves continues to climb to reach 2,491 serious cases (or +59 in 24 hours).
The number of intensive care beds is currently around 5,800 but it could rise according to the Minister of Health Olivier Véran to 7,700 in less than 15 days.
At the peak of the epidemic in the spring, more than 7,000 patients with the new coronavirus were in intensive care.
In addition, 1,667 new Covid patients have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of hospitalizations in the country to 15,637.
