A real ordeal, an outright abandonment of the Republic!

The purpose of the procedure he is carrying out is to evacuate the patient from the insanitary dwelling of Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) in which he has been trapped, in the literal sense of the term, for fifteen months.
To save the life of Alain Panabière, Me Codognès has just approached the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, in order to unblock a situation which is bogged down.
The fiftieth year old, of very strong build, can no longer get up and, since at least July 2019, has been lying on a mattress on the tiled floor in a dilapidated room.
To ensure his survival, Jean-Claude, his brother, became his caregiver and his guardian angel to feed him, to wash and to allow him to defecate.
In July, a first media salvo shed a harsh light on this tragedy in the Saint-Jacques district, two minutes from the shopping streets.
"A measure of euthanasia"
The prefect at the time, Philippe Chopin, himself led an inter-service coordination meeting "in order to best prepare the evacuation operation".
Firefighters from Sdis 66 specialists in delicate medical evacuations had drawn up a precise scenario for this liberation: shoring of the floor and enlargement of the front of the single opening to pass the patient on a special stretcher.
"In addition to technical difficulties, there is the uncooperative and volatile behavior of the Panabière brothers," the Prefect also noted in a note dated August 3, which fixed September as the deadline.
Three months later, the case has not advanced, despite an agreement found.
Major work has been undertaken to evacuate Alain from his home on rue du Moulin Parés.
