The galloping progression of the Covid-19 epidemic in Europe will lead France and Germany to announce Wednesday, October 28 a tightening of their health measures, following in the footsteps of other countries such as Italy, where discontent is growing in the face of increasingly draconian restrictions.

Upcoming restrictions in Germany and France
In France, President Emmanuel Macron is due to address the nation this Wednesday at 8 p.m. to announce new restrictions.

", warned the French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin.

In Germany, a crisis meeting is scheduled for Wednesday between Angela Merkel's government and regional leaders.
With around 11,000 dead, Germany is doing - as in the spring - still better than other European countries.
But new infections there reached a record 14,714 on Saturday, and the Chancellor has not stopped recently to call on her compatriots to stay as much as possible at home.

" insisted German Vice-Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
New incidents in Italy
Demonstrations against restrictive measures, sometimes punctuated by clashes and degradations, are increasing in Italy, where traders, employees and independents fear the second wave of the economic slump after the new decisions taken to stem the resurgence of the coronavirus.
From North to South, gatherings - of hundreds of people on average each time -, authorized or not, often starting from calls launched on social networks, are now daily in the cities of the peninsula.

Over 10,000 dead in Canada
Canada, in the midst of the second wave of coronoviruses, passed the 10,000 dead milestone on Tuesday evening, according to official figures compiled by several television channels.
More than 43.5 million cases
The novel coronavirus pandemic has killed at least 1,160,768 worldwide since the WHO office in China reported the onset of the disease at the end of December, according to a report drawn up by AFP on Tuesday from from official sources.
More than 43,516,870 cases of infection have been officially diagnosed.
The United States is the most affected country in terms of both deaths and cases, with 226,613 deaths, followed by Brazil with 157,946 deaths, India with 119,502 deaths, Mexico with 89,171 deaths, and the United Kingdom with 44,998 dead.
