The shopping month is coming and the activity on the popular site Shein is expected to deepen.

The site, which was founded in 2008, has gained great popularity in the world and Israeli surfers have been exposed to it in the last two years, in parallel with the multiple exposure to ticketing.

The public, especially women, buy in bulk thanks to the huge selection and cheap prices.

In 2018, Xi'an experienced a major crisis, when it became clear that Rogela had stolen passwords from about 6.5 million customers.

Recently, complaints from customers from Israel also surfaced on the Internet.

"Girls, be careful, we also fell for the sting, they charged us with the credit card for 10 thousand shekels," wrote one of them in the Facebook group "My shopping at Shein" and another surfer in the group added: "I stop ordering. I made an order yesterday and this morning someone tries Use my card in England / Canada. "

Users have also made similar claims on Twitter.

Is there room for apprehension?

Always and everywhere.

Retail sites are, over the years, a source of attempts to hack and steal information and credit cards.

But does that mean there is a hack for Shein?

We asked Nadav Avital, head of the research group at the cyber company Imperva, to help us decipher the source of the problem.

"There have been no recent posts about unusual activity on the site in cyber security forums," says Avital. "It is very possible that some of the customers on the site have not changed passwords since 2018, the year of the big break-in at Shein. They may also use the same password The hackers use this password. "

Avital has a tip: check if your email address has been hacked in the past.

All you have to do is go to this site, enter an email address and see if there is an alert.

And what happens if you find out that your password has been hacked in the past?

"If you find that your information has been leaked or hacked in the past, you should change the password immediately at all the sites where you used this password," says Avital, "It is recommended to choose a strong password or use a password manager that generates and stores them securely. "Most likely those who make sure to use unique passwords for each site or 2-step verification are less exposed to danger."
