Saved by the Bell


"The Redeemer's Ring", a rather silly cult series from the nineties, wins a sequel to the streaming service Peacock, and the trailer makes a pretty nice, self-conscious impression.

The plot goes back to Bayside High School nowadays with new students, from the original cast Elizabeth Berkeley and Mario Lopez (who played Jesse and Slater, respectively) return to key roles as school workers, while Zack Morris (Mark Paul Gossler) became California governor.

Tracy Wigfield, co-writer of "Rock 30" and creator of the sitcom "Good News," created the new adaptation and even brought in from her previous series the excellent John Michael Higgins for the role of school principal.
