Trailer for the movie "Love Story (s)" (Jerusalem Film Festival)
"Sublet", Eitan Fox's new film, will open the Jerusalem Film Festival.
The festival will take place on December 10-20 after being postponed twice during the summer.
The only question that remains open is in what format this will take place: there will be virtual screenings for sure, but the aim is to include them in physical screenings as well, in accordance with developments in Israel and the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
In any case, the festival will screen dozens of local and international films at Israeli premieres, some of which are the most talked about of the year.
The opening film slot, which is considered one of the most prestigious in Israeli film culture, was chosen to feature a film made in Israel - "Sablet" by Eitan Fox ("Walk on the Water"), which arrives in the capital after a world premiere at the New York Tribeca Festival.
As its name implies, the film deals with an American journalist who experiences a mental crisis until he swallows an apartment in Tel Aviv, and saves his soul through an encounter with a young filmmaker and the city without a break.
Starring: John Benjamin Hickey, known from "The Good Wife", and the Israeli actor Niv Nissim, who is not known.
Also unveiled today is the identity of the festival's closing film: "Love Story (s)" by French filmmaker Emmanuel More, starring Camilla Jordana, who is currently one of the hottest cultural figures in France.

The virtual screenings at the festival will take place through a modern viewing system that has already been used by leading festivals in the world and promises to combine a friendly interface and high technical quality.
It will, as usual, have six competitions - for local and international films, feature and documentary, long and short.
It will take place between the tenth and twentieth of December, and now it remains to wait for announcements about the names of the additional works to be displayed in it.
"We believe that there is no substitute for a real encounter that film festivals produce between audiences, filmmakers and cinema on the big screen," said Noam Regev, director of the Jerusalem Cinematheque and Festival, and its artistic director, Elad Smorzik. Ours and the filmmakers in Israel and around the world, we decided to submit an excellent program to the house, and at the same time we will continue to hope that the guidelines of the Ministry of Health will allow the festival to be held in the halls as well.
In any case, we will end this challenging year with a significant celebration for all film lovers. "
