"Wonder Woman 1984" will air another month on HBO Max.

It will arrive in Israel when the cinemas open

After repeated delays in its distribution, the movie "Wonder Woman 1984" will be distributed on the HBO Max streaming service this Christmas, and a week earlier in theaters around the world.

In Israel, it will not be possible to watch the film legally until it is released when the cinemas return at an unknown time.

Trailer "Wonder Woman 1984" (PR)

After its distribution was delayed several times throughout the year following the Corona crisis, Warner Bros. announced that "Wonderman Woman 1984" will be distributed on the HBO Max streaming service this Christmas, December 25th.

About a week earlier, the film will be screened in cinemas that will be open worldwide at the time.

The move stems from the uncertainty of whether cinemas in the United States will remain open, and if so, whether many people will agree to come to the screening during the Corona plague.

Because in Israel the cinemas are closed and are not expected to open until the end of the year, and since the HBO Max service is not available here - it will not be possible to expect from the country in a legal way.

At this stage, it is also not planned to be broadcast on frames such as VOD.

The film is expected to be released in Israel when cinemas reopen, and now no one knows when that might happen.

The sequel to "Wonder Woman", directed by Patti Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, who this time is also participating in its production, was supposed to be released worldwide a year ago.

Its distribution was first postponed to June 5, then postponed to October and then again to Christmas.

It will be available on HBO Max at no extra charge beyond the $ 15 monthly subscription fee.

This is in contrast to the premiere of the movie "Mulan" on the streaming service Disney Plus, for which the company charged an additional fee.

An announcement to the foreign media issued by the Warner Brothers further stated that the film will be available for a month on the streaming service, and then will only be shown in theaters abroad.

Gal Gadot wrote on her Instagram account: "It's time.

We have all waited a long time for this thing to happen.

I can not describe to you how excited I am that you all will see the film.

It was not an easy decision and we never thought we would have to wait so long for distribution, but the corona shook our world.
