An end to the saga?
Apple has agreed to pay $ 113 million to settle a lawsuit in a settlement, dubbed Batterygate, which slows down old iPhones without the users' knowledge, after the battery wears out due to standard use.
Although the company has agreed to a settlement, the agreement still needs to get court approval to go into effect.
This is the second settlement on the same issue - this time with 34 states in the United States - when in March the company reached another compromise agreement in which it is expected to pay up to $ 500 million.
In December 2017, Apple admitted to its customers that it was slowing down old iPhone models.
After it managed to provoke a storm in the company they explained and said that the goal is to "provide the best user experience for the users".
In addition, the company apologized and in early 2018 announced that as of the end of January of that year, users of slowed devices - iPhone 6 and more advanced - would pay $ 30 to purchase a new battery, instead of $ 80.
As part of a settlement agreement with the company in March, in which it agreed to pay $ 500 million, the compensation received by customers is only $ 25.
Apple's lawyers have argued that this is a fair deal because every client will receive the money in cash.
And so did the judge who dealt with the case who stated that "the deal is reasonable and proper".
