There has been a lot of talk over the years about a sequel to the classic "Givat Halfon does not answer" starring the trackers, but such did not materialize, and with the death of Israel Polyakov, the scroll was signed.
Cellcom TV is now announcing that the Israeli cult film will be given a new lease of life in another format: a sequel mini-series called "Givat Halfon 1.5".
The original 1976 film was created by Naftali Alter and Asi Dayan.
With the death of the latter, his son, Lior Dayan, became the owner of the rights alongside Alter.
They will both open and write the new mini-series for Cellcom TV together with Victor Bobli, who plays one of the inpatients in an institution in Lior Dayan's series on HOT, "Normal."
The series will be a spin-off of the original film, although it has not yet been announced in what way, what its plot will be and whether the stars of the original film will participate in it.

The theme song from it, "Let Thrush on Dune," written by Dayan Sr. and composed by Alter, became a hit in its own right.
In 2019, the film received a stage adaptation at the Habima Theater written by Daniel Lapin and directed by Moshe Kaftan, starring Tal Musari, Kobi Maor, Shlomi Koriat, Moshe Ashkenazi, Edna Bellilius, Uri Hochman, Sandra Sadeh, Yael Amit, and also Tova Tzafir and Nitza Shaul who recreated their roles. From the movie.
"Over the years, time and time again, in a serial way, they approached me and asked for my consent to create a sequel to 'Givat Halfon', but I always refused on the grounds that it was a masterpiece that over time became sacred and therefore should not be touched," said Lior Dayan.
"But a year ago there was an incident that I never thought could happen and as a result, I must admit, my position has changed. 45 years later, Givat Halfon will answer."
