It seems that this year the world's most popular messaging app is expected to undergo a number of sweeping changes, such as the storage screen that allows you to conveniently manage your media files, messages that disappear after a week and more.

During the financial meeting last month, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Facebook, said that 100 billion messages are sent via WhatsApp every day. This is an unprecedented figure that only widens the gap between competitors Telegram and other apps. According to reports, one of the features has already been leaked In the latest beta, it's the option to customize the call background image for each contact, thus giving a unique look to each call. Another WhatsApp updates the background library and adds 32 new backgrounds, and 29 more backgrounds for darkness.

Two other updates that have been leaked because WhatsApp is working on them and are expected to be released in the coming months, are the "Read Later" button and mute videos.
In fact, "Read Later" is a new "message archive" with few improvements.
The feature is not yet in beta, but when it comes into action, once you activate the "Read Later" mode, all new messages that arrive will be moved to the new folder, while while WhatsApp is set to this mode no home screen alerts will be displayed, similar to vacation mode.
The other update is the option to mute videos: so far WhatsApp allows for basic editing of the video shortcut, and it is expected to add an option to mute the audio in the video.
As mentioned, at this stage it is not clear when the updates will arrive, except for the refresh of the background calls on WhatsApp, which is already available in the public beta, which indicates that the launch of the feature is expected within weeks.
Just recently, WhatsApp launched the "Disappearing Messages" mode, where it can be set that after a week, the messages will be completely deleted, but can still be saved by taking a screenshot.
