A second preliminary investigation was opened on Tuesday evening the day after the violent evacuation of hundreds of migrants from Place de la République in Paris.
The prosecution announced the launch of investigations into "violence by a person holding public authority" allegedly committed by a police officer on journalist Rémy Buisine, of the online media Brut.
Another investigation had been opened a little earlier about another agent filmed tripping a migrant.

The incident with Rémy Buisine was also captured by a colleague.
A video posted on Twitter by journalist Nicolas Mayart (Le Média) and seen more than 800,000 times shows a police officer holding the videographer to the ground, brandishing his baton.

"Our journalist @Remy Buisine has been molested several times by a police officer," the media said on Twitter Tuesday about these facts.
According to the journalist from Brut, who commented on these images on Twitter, this is the "third time" that the "same policeman" attacked him in "the evening" of Monday: "Caught by the throat the first time , violently thrown the second time… and that… it's really hard tonight… ”, he wrote.
"It totally got out of hand," he recounted on Tuesday morning on Europe 1. "We, as journalists, have been hindered on numerous occasions, we have received blows, we have been jostled", explained Remy Buisine.
The malaise within the government
In the night, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin had evoked, on Twitter, “shocking” images, announcing to have requested “a detailed report on the reality of the facts from the Prefect of Police by tomorrow noon” before “decisions upon receipt ”.
Marlène Schiappa and Emmanuelle Wargon have also distanced themselves from the police intervention.
