“At the beginning of January, no test should take more than 24 hours between the test request and its result. This will be true of PCR tests, which we will continue to deploy ”
, affirmed Emmanuel Macron, during his speech on November 24.
A goal that seems difficult to achieve.
But the government has a weapon of massive deterrence to encourage laboratories to return the results of virological tests as quickly as possible: the amount of reimbursement could decrease after a certain period.
In any case, this is the objective of a negotiation initiated by the CNAM (National Health Insurance Fund) with representatives of biological laboratories.
The goal
“Is to decrease reimbursements for tests that would be returned after 24 hours.
A date from which this decision will come into effect is expected to be announced this week.
This will make it possible to correct current drifts where the results are sometimes returned 72 hours after the sample ”
