A 41-year-old man with numerous bruises was found dead Monday evening in the stairwell of a building in a city of Marseille, we learned this Tuesday from firefighters and police sources.
The man was beaten with an iron bar, feet and fists, said a police source, adding "that the author was on the run."
Firefighters alerted around 7 p.m.
The firefighters called to the scene around 7 p.m. failed to resuscitate the victim who was in cardio-respiratory arrest when they arrived.
The man was found in a cage of an apartment building in the city of Bricarde in the north of Marseille, said the marine firefighters.
A medico-legal obstacle to determine the cause of death was issued

and the judicial police were seized of the investigation.
