Elliott Page, star of "Juno" and "Umbrella Academy", came out of the closet as a transgender
The Canadian actor who was known to this day as Alan Page revealed in a long message on social media that he identifies as a man.
"It's amazing to love myself enough to strive for recognition of the true self," he wrote in a statement, in which he also attacked the politicians responsible for his method of violence against the trans community.

"Hey guys, I want to share with you that I'm a trans man," opens the surprising announcement on social media of Canadian actor Elliott Page, who was nominated in 2008 for Best Actress at the Academy Awards, for his role as a pregnant girl in the film Juno.
Whoever was known to this day as Alan Page went on to write that he "feels lucky to be here, and to get to this place in life."
"I can not begin to explain how amazing it is to love myself enough to strive for real self-awareness. I have been immensely inspired by so many people in the trans community. Thank you for your courage, generosity, and your endless work to make the world a more accepting and compassionate place. I will offer any support to continue striving to reach a more loving and egalitarian society, "he wrote in a statement.

Later in the message, Paige changes his tone, and talks about the fears that accompany him coming out of the closet.
"I ask for patience," he writes, "my happiness is real, but also fragile. The truth is that although I feel deep joy right now, I am also scared. I am afraid of probing my life, of hatred, 'jokes' and violence."
Was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.

In 2012 Paige came out of the closet and identified as a lesbian, now he explains that "he likes to be trans. Likes to be queer. The more I embrace who I am, the more I get to dream, and let myself thrive and my heart grow."
Paige attacks in a statement the discrimination suffered by members of the transgender community and mentions that in 2020 alone 40 members of the community were murdered.
Half are directed at political leaders who oppose their rights, claiming "they have blood on their hands."

Paige is not afraid to express his displeasure towards the evil spirits that are blowing against the community.
"This is a community where 40% of graduates report suicide attempts," Paige writes, "it's time to put an end to this."
He attacks opponents of what is known in the United States as the "culture of erasure" and writes: "You are not 'erased', you are hurting people.
I'm one of those people and we will not be silent in the face of your attacks. "
