On April 11, 2019, Israel's private lunar probe Bereshit crashed into the surface of the Moon.
The failure of a gyroscope led to the premature shutdown of the engines at an altitude of a few hundred meters.
A few months later, it is the lander of the Indian lunar probe Chandrayaan-2 which in turn crashes.
Two failures which illustrate the great difficulty of arriving on a distant star: the slightest error, the slightest failure during the descent phase translates directly into the loss of the mission.
The descent speed is such that no redundancy is possible in the event of a problem.
Even after two successful moon landings, with Chang'e 3 and 4 in 2013 and 2018, the arrival of the Chang'e 5 mission therefore remained a very critical phase.
