The Director General of Health, Professor Jérôme Salomon presented on Monday a mixed report in the fight against the “
second wave
” of the Covid epidemic.
Admittedly, the number of contaminations has fallen sharply since the peak of November 8, but this decline has slowed down since November 27 and has even stopped since December 7.
The objective set by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron to reach the figure of 5,000 new daily contaminations on December 15 is largely compromised.

European countries are experiencing "
great difficulties
" to control Covid-19, noted the DGS.
A week earlier, Prime Minister Jean Castex had congratulated him on France's results: "
