According to the report of Public Health France this Wednesday, December 9, 8,505 new hospitalizations were recorded over the last 7 days, including 1,111 in intensive care.
14,595 new cases of Covid-19 were also reported on Wednesday, against 13,713 the day before.
On November 24, Emmanuel Macron set a target of 5,000 contaminations per day and 2,500 to 3,000 people in intensive care to enter a second phase of easing health restrictions.

According to Public Health France, 296 new deaths in 24 hours in hospital are to be deplored this Wednesday, a figure down compared to the day before (380).
This brings the total death toll from Covid-19 since the start of the epidemic to 56,648.
The positivity rate remained at the same level as on Tuesday, at 6.4%.
2,865 clusters, including 1,226 in nursing homes, are still under investigation.
Santé Publique France issued a statement on Tuesday warning that certain indicators for monitoring the Covid-19 epidemic would experience a sudden change.
This is due, according to the health authority, to changes in calculation, and not to a different dynamics of circulation of the virus, warned the health agency.
