We will have to wait a few more months to know the fate of the former president.
The trial of Nicolas Sarkozy, within the framework of the "wiretapping affair", ended this Thursday evening at the end of the pleadings of the defense of his co-defendants.
The court reserved its decision on March 1, 2021.
Nicolas Sarkozy is suspected, along with lawyer Thierry Herzog and former magistrate Gilbert Azibert, of having concluded a “corruption pact” in 2014 in order to obtain information on a procedure then in progress.
The accusation of the National Financial Prosecutor's Office had also required four years in prison against the president, so two years suspended.
"I still have confidence in the justice of our country," said before the adjournment of the hearing the former President of the Republic, who appeared for corruption and influence peddling since November 23.
