The app has become one of the symbols of the Corona period, and one of the main media outlets following the social distance.
But the tech giants do not plan to sit idly by and see how it steals their users.
Now WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, has started allowing voice and video calls from the WhatsApp Web version in the browser, according to a post on the WABetaInfo blog.

First, the new option comes as a beta only, and is available to a limited portion of users.
And although WhatsApp has recently added video call support to up to eight people, the option only exists on smartphones.
The service will include all the features you are familiar with - end-to-end encryption, the option for a group chat of up to eight participants and the option to have a private chat in parallel with the group chat

How will it work?
From the published photos, you can see that as soon as you receive a call on WhatsApp, you will see an alert window that will display the contact image, where you can answer the call or reject it.
Also, during the call a smaller floating window will appear, this will provide details about the call.
In addition, WABetaInfo has previously estimated that we are expected to see an even bigger innovation - group video calls - with the aim of joining the war on zoom and other platforms.
