The suspicion was tested that the details were stolen in a cyber attack on a server on the corporation's website • Upon learning of the attack, the systems that were hacked were turned off and disconnected • No damage was caused to the ongoing work
The corporation building, in 2017
According to sources in the corporation, the suspicion was investigated that a breach had taken place in the access control system of the Israeli broadcasting body, which in the past year is in the final stages of its establishment by an external company.
The system includes an access control server for the corporation's sites according to the permissions given to each employee, and according to the suspicion, the server is the one to which the hack was performed - and in which various files were encrypted.
As soon as the cyber attack became known, the system was shut down and disconnected.
No harm was caused to the day-to-day work of the corporation.
The existing data in the system are the names of employees, ID numbers, their photos, their e-mail addresses and their telephone numbers, and there is a fear that they are being held by the burglars.
As far as is known, there is no connection between the hacked system and other systems in the corporation, as it is completely disconnected from them. The issue is currently being investigated by the corporation's information systems division and has been referred to the competent authorities in the cyber field. In addition, a complaint was filed with the police and the national cyber system.
