The trailer for the movie "Policeman in Kindergarten" (Universal)
Not all of us remember who our teacher was, but when it comes to Arnold Schwarzenegger it is impossible to really forget.
Thirty years ago, the American-Austrian actor took a break from action movies such as "Lethal Mission" and "Commando" to star in the comedy film "Kindergarten Cop", where he played John Kimball, a Los Angeles police officer who was forced to work as a gardener as part of a secret mission Kindergarten in Astoria, Oregon.
In the film, Schwarzenegger had to face his toughest rivals to date: a class full of noisy 6-year-olds. The film hit theaters on December 21, 1990 and became a huge hit with revenues of more than $ 200 million worldwide.
He actually launched an entire genre of "sturdy men who have to deal with small children" comedies, such as Wayne Diesel in "The Man Who Cares," Dwayne Johnson in "The Tooth Fairy" and Dave Batista in "Practicing Spy."
With all due respect to them, no one comes close to the source.
Thirty years have passed since "Kindergarten Policeman" was released and in honor of the occasion - and of course in light of Corona's limitations - Arnold Schwarzenegger reunited with six of his kindergarten children in a zoom meeting organized by Yahoo Entertainment.
At first the six children came up for a conversation to reminisce about those days and tell what has happened to them since then.
When Ella finished the round, Schwarzenegger unexpectedly joined the conversation and received stormy reactions.
He was quick to give the kids the full credit for the film’s success.
"Without a doubt, it was your show, kids, that made the film," Mr. Kimball said proudly, "that's what made him love, that's what made him successful and people wanted to watch it over and over again."

Of course the actor also deserves "some" credit for the success of "Kindergarten Cop", as it is responsible for some of the punch lines we all remember like "I'm the party pooper" and "It's not a tumor" (it's not a tumor) .
Schwarzenegger says he and Ritman - who also collaborated on the 1988 film "The Twins" - knew that the last sentence would become a classic when the children could not stop laughing on the set.
"There were certain lines that because of my accent the kids laughed at. So I just screamed 'This is not a tumor, this is not a tumor at all!'
"And the kids laughed out loud instead of being afraid of me. Ivan told me 'if the kids laugh at how you sound, then I think the audience will laugh too' and that's exactly what happened."
Schwarzenegger admits that his participation in the film taught him how to be a better parent to his children.
The actor was filmed a few months after he and his then-wife, Maria Schreiber, gave birth to their first daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger.
"It was a good warm-up for taking care of my kids," the father of five says in the zoom call, "from spending time with you during breaks and talking to you and all that, this movie really helped me be a better parent. It really helped me raise my kids."
And this is what they look like today:

The actor signed the call with the promise of arranging a meeting with the cast at his home as soon as the epidemic passes from the world.
"We'll do it at my house, we'll get together and have a party and share gossip!", He swears, "I want to hear all the details about what you've been through the last 30 years.
