An individual in his twenties was remanded in custody in Mont-de-Marsan.
This man, who is suspected of having shot a gendarme in the leg with the service weapon of this last Wednesday in Sanguinet (Landes), was indicted and imprisoned this Friday, we learned from of the parquet floor of Mont-de-Marsan.
A judicial investigation was opened for "attempted murder and violence on a person holding public authority".
The gendarme injured in the thigh
The young man is suspected of having seized the service weapon of a gendarme during a melee and of having fired a shot in the leg, after having previously refused to be checked and to have tried to escape, Tuesday at midday.
The gendarmes had been approached by a relative of this young man to find him.
The wounded gendarme, based in Parentis-en-Born (Landes), was hit in the thigh but left the hospital in Arcachon (Gironde) where he had been admitted on Tuesday without his life being in danger.
