Singer and musician Roni Yedidya paid tribute to Laney in a conversation with Walla!
Culture: "Lior is the downfall of Israeli music. One of the most beautiful voices. A rare combination of a lot of power in singing, which is not heard much, and on the other hand a theatrical presentation, because he was not only a singer but also a great actor. He also had great musical taste. "Which was expressed in the selection of his songs, including 'Come to Eilat' and 'Japanese Legend.' As a child, I was exposed to the rooster band he was a member of and the classics he participated in, and I begged them to buy me the record. Later he was a huge star in the musical 'I Like Mike'.
"When I was discharged from the army, one day Lior Yeni called me. He needed someone to accompany him to performances, and he came to my house. I worked with Lior for two years. He was on the one hand a huge star and on the other a kind person. He let me accompany him on guitar and sing with him. His personality was pleasant and fun, it was impossible not to love him. After many years, about a year ago I recorded with him 'such an evening', which became the last song he recorded and filmed for him. He was already ill and did not leave the house. He really wanted to film The clip but also terribly afraid of it. He overcame the fears, left the house after many days of not leaving and filmed the clip. He was weak, so most of the time he sat on a chair. And when he sang in the filming - he was a happy ray. Terribly sad that he could not overcome The disease. "
