France has recorded 25,379 additional cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, according to the latest data published on the government website on Wednesday.
This figure is up sharply compared to the day before, when 20,489 cases had been identified.

This increase in the number of cases is accompanied by a slight decrease in the number of hospitalized patients, 163 fewer this Wednesday (1,433 in total).
In intensive care, the figures are almost stable, with 9 fewer patients (2,616 in total).
The figures also show 283 new hospital deaths, bringing the death toll to 66,565 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
