Eight days after a similar discovery, a charred body was found in the boot of a burning vehicle on Wednesday by the firefighters of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône).
The latter had been called a little before 11 a.m. for a car fire in the north of the city, Chemin de Bizet, a discreet lane overlooking the A55 motorway in the Estaque district (16th arrondissement).
The body is, according to Provence, that of an adult.
The criminal brigade of the Marseille judicial police went to the site for the findings.
It could be once again what investigators qualify as "Marseille barbecue", a modus operandi intended both to mark the spirits by getting rid of a rival in a cruel way, and to erase all traces of criminals.
On December 29, two charred bodies were discovered in a vehicle at Pennes Mirabeau.
These last two deaths in 2020 brought to 12 the number of victims of settling of accounts over the year in the entire department, according to the latest figures from the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters with AFP.
