The Minister of the Environment has accepted the request for an extension for the entry into force of the stop to Euro 4 diesel vehicles, advanced in recent days by the presidents of the Regions of the Padano Basin (Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Veneto).
For the governor of Piedmont, Alberto Cirio, this is a "common sense" decision, the request for which came not only from the productive world but also from the private one, also in light of the reopening of schools and therefore with the possibility of circulating and avoid situations of possible contagion ".
The extension to the stop of Euro4 diesel vehicles will be a temporary measure. "For our part, the commitment to fight smog has not diminished", Cirio specifies announcing "a meeting shortly to define the extraordinary plan for the reduction of emissions. Next week will open the expression of interest for Move-In", the so-called 'antismog' black box, "as soon as we have the first provider we can also start with that measure".
