An investigation for “illegal taking of interests” targeting Minister Sébastien Lecornu was opened by the National Financial Prosecutor's Office.
The facts go back to the time when the current Minister of Overseas Territories combined the functions of president of the departmental council of Eure and a post of administrator of the Société des autoroutes Paris-Normandie, according to information from Liberation.
This investigation, started in 2019 after an anonymous letter was sent to the PNF, was opened in March 2019 on charges of "illegal taking of interests" and "failure to report to the High Authority for the transparency of the public life ”.
It was entrusted to the Central Office for the Fight against Corruption and Financial and Fiscal Offenses (OCLCIFF).
