Max Planck researcher calls for more home offices instead of public transport closures
7.37 a.m.: At the next federal-state consultation next Tuesday, local public transport will also be an issue.
Ways would have to be found, how contacts among passengers could be thinned, said government spokesman Steffen Seibert on Friday in Berlin.
However, this does not mean stopping public transport
The Max Planck researcher Viola Priesemann believes the closure of the public transport system is impractical.
Via Twitter, she is therefore calling for other measures to be intensified so that fewer people have to rush to rush hour on buses and trains:

Union faction leader Brinkhaus calls for stricter restrictions
7.19 a.m.:
Ralph Brinkhaus (CDU) has spoken out in favor of a comprehensive expansion of the corona restrictions.
"Better to do it right now - instead of an endless loop into the summer," said the Union faction leader of the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung".
"In particular, the high infection rate of the new mutation worries us very much," said Brinkhaus, referring to the apparently much more contagious coronavirus variants.
"We have to try to contain these new virus variants by taking consistent measures in good time," demanded the Union parliamentary group leader.
With a view to the federal-state consultations on further corona restrictions next Tuesday, he appealed that the resolutions there "will then be implemented one-to-one at home in the state capitals and consistently followed up".
