Covid-19: 16,642 new cases, 9,081 people vaccinated in 24 hours

From Monday, vulnerable people or people over 75 years of age can be vaccinated after making an appointment.


The coronavirus epidemic is still progressing in France, where 16,642 new cases have been detected in the past 24 hours, Public Health France announced this Sunday, January 17.

In total, 2,910,989 people have tested positive since the onset of the disease in France.

141 patients died in hospital, bringing the total number of victims in France to 48,924.

Over the last seven days, 9,631 new hospitalizations were counted, including 1,418 in intensive care.

1,921 epidemic outbreaks are still under investigation, including 725 in nursing homes.

The Ministry of Health also communicated on the latest vaccination figures.

9,081 people have been vaccinated in the past 24 hours.

A total of 422,127 have been released since the campaign began on December 26.

From Monday, people over the age of 75 and those with certain pathologies that can lead to serious forms of Covid will be able to be vaccinated.
