The Google subsidiary YouTube has extended the suspension of US President Donald Trump's account.
In view of fears that Trump could incite violence through the channel, YouTube will prevent him from posting videos for at least seven more days, the company said on Tuesday (local time).
The blockage was initially only planned until the eve of the assumption of office by the designated US President Joe Biden.
YouTube issued a warning against the account last Tuesday.
The reason given was that a "violence inciting video" had been published on Trump's account, which has around 2.7 million subscribers.
Comments on the channel's videos would also "continue to be disabled indefinitely," YouTube added.
The videos uploaded before the lock can still be accessed.
Trump's access to the online platforms, which were popular communication channels of the president during his tenure, is currently largely cut off.
Twitter and Facebook suspended Trump's accounts for an indefinite period after the storming of the US Capitol by rampaging supporters of the elected president.
Snapchat and Twitch also denied Trump access.
Trump's rampaging supporters were "provoked" and "fed with lies" by the president, said Senate Republican majority leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday.
