It is the trembling voice that Nataliya Kruchenyk gave news of her son this Saturday on BFM TV.
Yuriy, 15, was violently assaulted with a baseball bat and crutches in Paris on January 15.
He woke up this Saturday at Necker hospital where he had since been hospitalized in serious condition.

“Yuriy is doing better today,” explained Nataliya Kruchenyk.
He starts to wake up, to want to talk to us, to move… This is a very good sign.
The mother of the family recalls how her son, hit in the nose, arm, shoulders, ribs and fingers, was abused, as already evidenced by a video of the assault posted on social networks.
“The skull was broken in several places,” adds the mother.

The political class has not remained indifferent either.
The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, denounced an "attack of incredible savagery".
“Support for the young boy and his family.
The investigation should shed light on the facts and question the perpetrators of this filthy act, ”he added.
Bringing “all (his) support to him and his family”, Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, said she was “extremely shocked by the incredible aggression of young Yuriy.

Young Yuriy was assaulted on Friday January 15 when he was leaving college with a group of friends, in the Beaugrenelle district, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
The video of the assault on a dozen young people in sportswear and hooded jackets kicking, bat or stick on a person lying on the ground, before abandoning him.
Witnesses spoke of a brawl between rival gangs, without being able to say whether or not the victim was part of one of them.

“My son is someone obedient, a good student, a smiling and sociable boy […] who gets along well with everyone,” said Nataliya Kruchenyk this Saturday evening on BFM TV.
Yuriy's mother called her son's friends, with whom he was when he was assaulted, and who apparently fled when the attackers arrived, to talk.
