Duhamel affair: "My only certainty is that this whole story killed my aunt, Marie-France Pisier"

Julien Kouchner, the older brother of the author of "La Familia Grande" and the victim of Olivier Duhamel, has always fought to break the s

For Julien Kouchner, brother of Camille and “Victor”

(he chose to remain anonymous)

, the suicide in 2011 of his aunt, Marie-France Pisier, is not credible.

The latter, after learning in 2008 of the charges of incest brought by her nephew against Olivier Duhamel, had fought to bring out the truth.

Have you been relieved since your family secret was finally revealed?

JULIEN KOUCHNER.

Yes.

This drama and its silence hurt me deeply.

I am so proud of my sister.

But I would also like to say how much admiration I have for my brother.

He had the courage to say "yes" to this book as these revelations plunge him back into what hurts him so much.

But these revelations are nothing compared to what he went through.

He is a man who, despite all that, has managed to build himself brilliantly, build a career, a family.

How do you explain that a drama involving families as well known as yours was not made public earlier?

An omerta?

I cannot explain it to myself.

I never kept silent.

And since 2008, my aunt, Marie-France Pisier, my father, my mother-in-law, Christine Ockrent, and many others have also told those who wanted to hear it.

And yet nothing helped.

I experienced this as an injustice, a rotten thing.

When my aunt died, I thought it would be like a testament that brought the truth to light, that what we had been saying for years would finally find an echo.

But that was not the case.

As my sister put it perfectly, in the end, there was only the writing left.

Let's be clear, for me there is only one criminal.

It is true that in our circle, many knew the actions of my father-in-law.

Our world was then divided into two categories, those who moved away and even broke with it and the others who stayed by disbelief or opportunism ... But since the publication, I discovered that there would be a third category, that accomplices who described as rumors facts they knew to be correct.

Maybe that brings the answer to the previous question ...

The Olivier Duhamel affair: Camille Kouchner's shocking book that breaks the taboo of incest

There has been a lot of criticism of the spirit of 68 which hovered over your family, a libertarian atmosphere where nothing was forbidden ... Do you understand this explanation?

No.

We can put an era on trial, but here we are talking about criminal actions.

When I was a teenager I remember a game of seduction with friends of my mother.

Surely there was inappropriate behavior, stolen kisses, but nothing more.

This has nothing to do with.

What happened to my brother is a hidden, covered up crime.

We are not on the same register.

Do you think this family secret is at the origin of your aunt's suicide?

I never believed my aunt committed suicide, but I don't know how she died.

My only certainty is that this whole story killed her.
