A man shot and killed an employee of a Pôle Emploi agency this Thursday morning, while she had just taken up her post in an agency in the city of Valence (Drôme), according to information revealed by Europe 1 and confirmed since by AFP.
The gunman, 45 years old with no previous record, was arrested after he fled.
Another woman was seriously injured, according to a police source.
The individual broke into the agency around 9 a.m. before opening fire.
The victim, whose precise age and function within the agency have not yet been communicated, succumbed to his injuries.

After attempting to flee, the perpetrator, a 45-year-old man, was arrested and taken into police custody.
Unknown to police records and intelligence, he had managed to hit the road after killing the employee of the job search agency.
The killer crossed the Rhône by the Mistral bridge, according to France Bleu Drôme Ardèche, to get to the town of Guilherand-Granges.
There, he would have, again according to information from Europe 1, again used his firearm, this time against employees of a recycling company.
AFP, citing a police source, explains that another woman was seriously injured.
The man was arrested after hitting a police car on the road to Valence, a town he appeared to be heading for again.
