The pandemic has redistributed the cards of delinquency in 2020 in France.
If during confinements, according to the first annual report on delinquency from the Ministry of the Interior, the drop in thefts without violence against people fell by 58% compared to the same period of the previous year, just like home burglaries (-57%), other indicators are particularly alarming.

For the third consecutive year, the number of rapes continued to increase by 11% after an increase of 19% in 2019 and of 18% in 2018. Other sexual violence also increased by 3% after an increase of 12% in 2019 .
The cases of assault and battery on people over 15 years or over (CBV) also increased overall by 1% compared to 2019.
By analyzing this category, the Ministry of the Interior explains that the number of victims has risen sharply in the intra-family context (+ 9%).
From now on, the proportion of victims of intra-family violence there “now exceeds 50%” against 44% in 2018.
