Many people in Germany can hardly wait for the corona vaccination - but in Serbia someone had to be found first who dared.
In the syringes there was not a product from the West, but a preparation from the manufacturer Sinopharm from China.
Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar was the first to be poked.
“I was guided by two basic facts.
First, that the vaccine meets all safety criteria.
Second, that it's effective, ”says Lončar, a medical doctor who received the injection in January.
"When I was convinced of all this, I could stand in front of the citizens of Serbia and suggest that they start mass vaccination."
As in the Balkans, it is in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Paraguay and a growing number of countries.
The residents should receive vaccines from China or Russia because goods from the West are not available.
The vaccines from Biontech and Moderna, which have proven themselves in clinical studies, are practically sold out.
The AstraZeneca fabric turns out to be less effective.
