Google's new travel service (video editing: Nir Chen)
Quietly Quietly Google is updating the Google Maps app and adding support for a split view to view the map and Street View at the same time.
In the Street View view, you can view the street, whether it's photos taken by Google's mapping vehicle or photos that came from users.
The feature is activated automatically, immediately after you "cast a pin" and enter Street View.
The split screen is available in vertical and horizontal orientation, and there is also an extension button so you can switch to full screen display for users who prefer the old screen.
Google's new update: coming soon (Photo: Screenshot, Screenshot)
The new feature came in version 10.59.1, and is now inactive for all users, requiring activation from Google.
This is one of the reasons why Google has not yet released an official announcement about the new update, and it is possible that at this point they are checking the user comments.
This is a small change, but beneficial since so far it has had to exit the Street View to select a new location, whereas in the new update this can be done using the map.
