Lucy Job announces the song "Set Me Free" performed by Eden Elena as a song that represented Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands 2021, on the broadcast "Our Song for the Eurovision Song Contest" here 11 (Stills: Eran Levy, video: here 11)

The European Broadcasting Union announced (Wednesday) that although the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest will take place at pre-arranged times - May 18, 20 and 22 - it will not take place in the familiar format but in a different and more limited format, while fulfilling the social distance restrictions.

A statement issued at noon did not say whether audiences and journalists would be allowed to enter the hall, but said some delegations who did not arrive in Rotterdam in the Netherlands would appear with a recording from their country.

"The Eurovision Song Contest will be held in May despite the epidemic but in light of the circumstances it will be held in a way we have not been accustomed to so far," the competition supervisor said.

"We very much hope we can meet in Rotterdam in May and do our best in the coming weeks to achieve this goal."

The Eurovision announcement presented several possible scenarios for the existence of the Eurovision Song Contest, including the existence of competition under the rules of social distance and the possibility for delegations to perform from their country.

Those who choose to come to the Netherlands will be able to perform live on stage from the hall.

In another scenario according to which the morbidity will not decrease - all delegations will appear from their countries.
