Another accident at the US space company SpaceX: For the second time, an unmanned rocket exploded on landing in the US state of Texas.
The "Starship SN9" rocket took off on Tuesday afternoon and rose to an altitude of 10,000 meters.
After a few successful test maneuvers, it should land back on earth in a vertical orientation.
But the rocket approached the earth too quickly and at the wrong angle.
"We have to do a little more work on the landing," said a SpaceX representative after the failed attempt to land.
It was only in December that a rocket went up in flames during the landing maneuver.
The company is confident and plans to start the next test flight soon.
In the long term, SpaceX wants to use the 120-meter-long Starship rockets to make travel and cargo transport to the moon and Mars possible.
The rocket parts should be able to be reused after a successful landing.
Until then there is obviously still a need for optimization.
