The former collaborator of Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace must now wait for the examining magistrates to decide, or not, to make him compare

A new court appearance for Alexandre Benalla?

After being dismissed at the end of January, in correctional for the passport case, the Paris prosecutor's office confirmed on Tuesday that the ex-representative at the Elysee Palace could be tried for willful violence, untitled interference in the exercise of a public function or the unauthorized carrying of a weapon.

In its final indictment, the prosecution requests a criminal trial for four people including Alexandre Benalla, now 29 years old.

It is now up to the investigating judges to decide whether or not to hold a trial.

During the demonstration of May 1, 2018, Alexandre Benalla, then collaborator of Emmanuel Macron, and Vincent Crase, employee of the La République En Marche party, are accused of having committed several acts of violence against demonstrators at Place de la Contrescarpe in the 5th district of Paris.

Benalla and Crase, prosecuted for the same reasons, contest the violence, believing that they helped the police to arrest demonstrators who threw projectiles at them.

Targeted by four other investigations

Images of this alleged violence were then broadcast, putting Emmanuel Macron in difficulty in his first part of his mandate.

In this video, we saw a man in a hoodie, wearing a police helmet, brutally attacking a young protester arrested by the CRS.

We see him dragging the young man to the ground, grabbing him violently by the neck and hitting him several times.

It could be the one who was then employee of the Elysee.

Five demonstrators became civil parties in this case.
