Minister of Communications Bnei Gantz has decided:

The cellular companies will expand the cellular coverage of the 4th generation network within two years from 75 percent coverage today - to 95 percent.

This is what Israel Today has learned.

Minister Gantz ordered that priority be given to the Judea and Samaria area and to red roads throughout the country, such as the Acre bypass and Road 8833 in the north.

To this end, the traffic police mapped the problem areas in the country.

The decision was made after a hearing held for companies as part of the "milestone" program of the Ministry of Communications.

A company that does not meet the allotted time (two years) will risk receiving fines and losing its operating license.

For years many roads in Judea and Samaria were without absorption, a reality that has changed in recent years following the activities of former MK Moti Yogev.

However, there are still significant roads and sections in Judea and Samaria where there is still no cellular reception. 60, who passes through villages considered particularly hostile and which has known severe terrorist attacks and road accidents in the past.

To enable the coverage to be extended to remote and sparsely populated areas, the Ministry of Communications will allow companies to jointly operate 120 antennas within the Green Line and 60 antennas throughout Judea and Samaria.

"Coping is complex"

The Minister of Communications, Bnei Gantz, said: "I wanted to make sure that the move includes coverage of all the roads defined as red, as well as the Judea and Samaria area, where the security confrontation is very complex. human life".

The director general of the Ministry of Communications, Liran Avishar-Ben Horin, said: "Every Israeli citizen everywhere needs cell phone coverage.

The ministry will ensure that the issue is enforced and executed in accordance with the schedules set in the decision.

The 4th generation network will be the main anchor network in the State of Israel for cellular services. "
