Mexico has passed the threshold of two million cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, which has killed nearly 176,000 people in the country, according to the latest official report published on Tuesday.
A total of 2,004,575 cases and 175,986 deaths have been reported in Mexico, including 8,683 new cases and 1,329 deaths in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said.

Mexico is the third most bereaved country in the world by Covid-19, behind the United States and Brazil.
A vaccination campaign started there on December 24.
