Not really a teenager in love.

Much has already been said and written about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's interview with Yonit Levy in the main edition of News 12 this week.

The social networks were filled with posts and tweets that analyzed these 32 minutes from every direction, and most of them did not compliment Yonit Levy.

Much of the criticism directed at Levy focused on her body language, reactions, facial expressions and laughter that came out of her mouth several times throughout the interview.

Levy’s facial expressions, or their absence, have been a very popular topic of conversation over the years.

In her early years as the presenter of the edition she was called "Ice Queen", "Frigid" and the like, then there were comic references to her eyebrow movement, and their up and down movement was attributed to their own encrypted language.

The reactions to Levy's giggles in this interview were particularly interesting because they were perceived by many viewers as a kind of charm or flattery towards Netanyahu.

I saw quite a few tweets that attacked her for an awkward, bizarre response, "a teenager in love" even called her.

I saw something completely different there.

What does Netanyahu mean when he says to Yonit Levy, "Na na na na na na"?

The laughter emitted by Mionit was not an authentic laugh, it was a laugh of embarrassment and distress.

He came in response to bites, attacks and also to Netanyahu's childish and unnecessary "na, na, na, na".

I do not know Ionic personally, but I do know this laugh.

I laughed at him too.

Dozens of times maybe.

The last time I remember was about half a year ago, when a professional who came to do some repair in my house remarked something vague about how my body looked.

I laughed that laugh and immediately turned and walked away to another room.

And there was also that time when a driver got on a sidewalk near a crosswalk and almost hit my child standing next to me.

I woke her up, so she yelled at me "Pay attention to where your child is going".

Even then, this laughter came to me.

This is not flattering laughter.

This is a half default response.

It happens when you are in an awkward situation, where you have not completely lost control, but you also do not feel completely safe to respond as your stomach asks - because your little boy is next to you and you do not want him to be scared, because you are not 100% closed the moment this man is on the ladder. Your kitchen really told you what it's told you now, or that you're in the middle of your work right now, and it's live on TV.

Ionic laughs (Photo: screenshot, News 12)

It's a laugh that tries to convey "I will not let you see that it hurts me", it is a laugh that tries to roll the insult away from you and beyond.

It's like the 3 seconds rule for your soul, if I act like it doesn 't touch me even for a second then it will not hurt me or upset me.

Almost from the moment the interview began, Netanyahu sent arrows at Yonit, "You do not ask the right questions," "You do not let them answer," "Why did you not ask Lapid this question?"

- He did not come to the News 12 studio to be interviewed by Yonit Levy, he came to defeat her.

If the 12th news edition is the tribal bonfire, then Yonit Levy is its face - the face of the news.

And in Netanyahu's battle for public opinion, he faces anyone who challenges his image as the sole and eternal leader of the State of Israel.

In order to win the bonfire of the tribe, one does not have to face any of the journalists there or give satisfactory answers to all the questions, enough to "kill" its symbol.

So he drew a target on Yonit Levy's head and went on the attack.

I am not an expert on the matter, but it can be assumed that the other body gestures of Yonit Levy (which they also dealt with extensively) were a reflection of the defense she entered - tilting the body away from Netanyahu, bending the head and the fragmented eye contact.

In fact, only in the last minute and a half of the interview, when it was already clear that these were his concluding remarks and in a short moment he left the studio and it would end, Levy's posture let go, she straightened and straightened her upper body, which until now was on the opposite side to Netanyahu. The frame.

Do you know this feeling that you have after a confrontation with someone, that you suddenly think of a great response you could give him, what a sharp punch that if only he got on your tongue at the right moment would have dried the opponent on the spot?

It seems to me that for Levy this interview provided more than one such moment.

But the wisdom of retrospect is elusive and frustrating.

In the end, in the jarring and unpleasant moment of truth, sometimes all we get out of it is such casual laughter, that we hope it has convinced enough people that we have not been offended.

That's not to say it's funny.
