Facebook is launching the music component on Facebook and Instagram and Reels in Israel - a new feature that will appear in the app that will allow users to produce short 15-second videos with music and various effects, similar to what the competing TikTok app does today.

The update will reach all users in Israel starting today (Monday) in the evening.

“Today, more than ever, people are coming to our platforms to connect and share with each other.

We are happy to give people in Israel new ways to express themselves, share music that is important to them and add soundtrack to their personal moments, "says Erin Pettigew, Product Manager, Reels.

what's the matter?

Rails is the new way to create and edit short videos on Instagram.

You can shoot and edit videos, up to 30 seconds long, consisting of several clips and can include audio, effects, backgrounds and a variety of new creative tools.

Videos can be shared with your followers in the feed, and if you have a public account, you can make them available to the general public through the dedicated Reels tab.

There are also new tools for creating original videos - for example, you can search for songs in the music library, choose from music in the "Trending" and "For you" categories or use an original soundtrack and record it together with the video.

An original soundtrack shared on Reel will be associated with the creator;

In public accounts, people will be able to use the audio clip for their own videos, by clicking "Use Audio".

All Reels videos will be displayed in a separate tab for those who want to discover short and entertaining videos, of content creators or of people from around the world.

In addition, it will be possible to share the videos through the Stories and Private Messaging (DM) services, as well as in the News Feed - a new Reels tab will be added to the personal profile, where all the videos will be displayed.

You can change the subject image of the video, add captions and hashtags.

Music on Facebook and Instagram

Starting tonight, Facebook and Instagram users in Israel will be able to add songs to photos and videos in stories, connect with artists and send song recommendations.

The launch of the musical features in Israel was made possible thanks to the collaboration with ACUM - the Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers in Israel.

To add a song, open the camera on Instagram or Facebook, or alternatively select from the gallery, and click on the dedicated icon for the music sticker.

Once you select a song, if there are lyrics available on the platform, they will also automatically appear in the story.

You can select excerpts from the song you want to highlight, add the artist name and the name of the song.

You can change the animation and design of the text by clicking on the sticker as well as move the position of the words on the video, rotate, enlarge and reduce - as you do with any sticker on Instagram.

You can answer the popular question sticker in stories with a song from the music library - and share the answers they liked.

The feature is available for use in Stories on both Facebook and Instagram.

In addition, people will also be able to add songs to interests and hobbies on their Facebook profile, or pin songs up the profile.

The song you choose will play when people visit your profile, and they will also be able to visit the artist's Facebook page by clicking on the musical section.

"We are happy that the musical features on Facebook and Instagram will now also be available in Israel. This is a significant leap forward, which will allow Israelis to share music from a wide catalog of Israeli and international songs, in the personal content they create and share," says Assaf's VP of Business Development. Nahum

"We are excited to bring Reels and Music to Israel. The new features will provide people with additional ways to share their feelings and express their creativity," says Facebook Israel VP of Communications Maayan Sarig. "Israeli music, just like Israel itself, is made up of everything. So many genres and styles and we look forward to original, exciting and inspiring content that will pour content and meaning into the moments that the Israeli audience chooses to document.

"Today, more than ever, people are relying on Facebook's platforms to connect with each other - the new tools will connect the industry to the general public, allow people to discover new artists, and bring musicians and their fans closer together."
