NASA shows video of the landing of the robot Perseverance on Mars


NASA has published a spectacular video of the landing of the Mars rover "Perseverance" - impressive images and sound recordings of a technical masterpiece. An anxious minute passed before the landing was successful.

NASA has published a video of the landing of their Mars rover Perseverance.It shows how the parachute opens, the heat shield is repelled and the rover finally lands on the floor of the red planet.

NASA spoke of "seven minutes of terror".

That was the time that the probe had to survive on its approach through the rather thin but effective Martian atmosphere.

Dave Gruel, NASA's chief engineer:

“We have collected 13 gigabytes of material of information.

And more than 23,000 photos of the landing on Mars. "

There are even first sound recordings.

This is what the wind sounds like on Mars.

Five cameras took the pictures, while two microphones recorded the sounds.

"Perseverance" (in German "Perseverance") landed on Mars last Thursday.

The landing is considered to be the most complex and demanding in robotic space travel.

The rover, which was launched from Earth in July, will spend several years searching for traces of previous microbial life and traces of water on Mars.
