Some 16 tons of cocaine were discovered in containers in the port of Hamburg, the customs service said on Wednesday, welcoming the largest seizure ever in Europe.
The drug was discovered on February 1 in five containers from Paraguay, customs said, adding that the seizure also helped get their hands on seven other tons stored in Belgium.
The total amount of these seizures would thus reach for resale "several billion euros", according to customs.
