According to a survey, there are clear reservations about the restriction of freedom rights in the pandemic and against a corona vaccination.
A third of the citizens in Germany (33 percent) reject interventions in the freedom rights to fight pandemics "more" or "completely".
And 34 percent do not want to be vaccinated, as the representative survey published on Wednesday on behalf of the Bertelsmann Foundation shows.
For the survey, the Norstat Institute interviewed more than 1000 adults at the end of 2020.
According to the Foundation in Gütersloh, the negative attitude towards vaccinations and restrictions on freedom among people who are particularly performance and success-oriented is above average.
The corona crisis exacerbates value conflicts that were already smoldering before, said Yasemin El-Menouar, co-author of the study "Between Individual Freedom and the Common Good".
Around 45 percent of those surveyed were also convinced that the crisis could also have positive effects - with a view to climate protection and social interaction.
And 82 percent agreed that the pandemic was highlighting the need for profound change in society.
Politicians should make it clearer that individual freedoms and willingness to perform are still of crucial importance for society, said El-Menouar.
And that restrictive measures are limited in time and pursue the goal of "being able to lead a free and self-determined life again as quickly as possible."
The Robert Koch Institute is currently reporting a stagnating number of new infections instead of declining values.
The RKI figures from Wednesday show that the health authorities in Germany reported 8007 new corona infections within one day.
In addition, 422 additional deaths were recorded within 24 hours.
Exactly one week ago, the RKI had recorded 7556 new infections and 560 new deaths within one day.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the RKI has counted 2,402,818 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 in Germany (as of February 24, 3:10 a.m.)
The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher since many infections are not detected.
The total number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 68,740.
