A 70-year-old woman was indicted Thursday for intentional homicide after the violent death of her husband at their home last weekend, in Blanc in the Indre, according to the Bourges prosecutor's office.
The 75-year-old man was found dead last Saturday by the gendarmes warned by his wife, the same source said.
While in police custody, the wife, who is suspected of having strangled her husband, denied being responsible for his death without providing any explanation as to the reason for the victim's death.
The 70-year-old woman, who could be mentally retarded according to the prosecution, confirmed that she and her husband were alone at the time of her death.
"No trace of break-in"
The prosecution also indicated "that no trace of break-in was found on the pavilion" and that the investigation "was entrusted to the community of White Brigades".
The mayor of Blanc, Gilles Lherpinière
indicated "do not have more elements for the moment", specifies La Nouvelle République.
"All I can say is that this is a couple without a story, whom I had never heard of," he added.
