The next revolution?
Twitter announced tonight (Thursday) that it will soon launch a new service, called Super Follow, that will improve content creators to demand payment from followers.
In addition, the company announced the establishment of content groups (Communities) in specific areas of interest, similar to Facebook.
The report comes from the Mashable website, where they announced that Twitter announced the services in a conversation with investors.
In screenshots released it seems that the idea, at least initially, is to charge a monthly fee of $ 4.99 in favor of a particular subscription that will allow the user to access exclusive content or newsletters.
Meanwhile, the social network has not announced when the new feature will reach all users, or even some of them - like popular content creators.
If the idea does materialize in the end, it will be the first time that content creators will be able to get paid on social media as well.
As for content communities, this is a place where you can discuss specific issues, as you know from Facebook.
The goal is to talk to people who are less connected to the open nature of Twitter, and to bring in new users who are unfamiliar with the platform and prefer to join conversations in open or closed groups.
