The Parisian teenager Yuriy, whose beating in mid-January, in the Beaugrenelle district (15th), caused a national stir, was heard by investigators for the first time on Wednesday.
The lawyer of the young man and his family, Me Francis Szpiner, as well as a source close to the case, confirmed to AFP this hearing revealed by BFMTV.
According to the news channel, the hearing lasted 1.5 hours, due to the state of health of the 15-year-old college student.
The latter spoke of another clash, dating from January 10, which is, according to the Paris prosecutor's office, at the origin of the brawl during which he was beaten up, five days later.
Mr. Szpiner did not wish to comment on the state of health of the young man, who was hospitalized in serious condition.
Six young people in prison
Eleven young people are indicted in this case, most of them minors and domiciled in Vanves (Hauts-de-Seine).
Presented to an examining magistrate at the end of January and the beginning of February, they are prosecuted, depending on the case, for “attempted murder” or “theft with violence” and “participation in a criminal association”.
Six of these young people are imprisoned in this case of violence between teenagers from rival neighborhoods, which took place on the slab of Beaugrenelle, the fitted roof of a shopping center in the 15th arrondissement, and had been revealed a week later by the broadcasting a video.
This week, brawls between gangs of young people in Essonne left two dead, a teenager on Tuesday and a 14-year-old schoolgirl on Monday.
For five years, however, the number of gangs has appeared stable, both in the Paris area and in the capital, a police source said, specifying that “46 active gangs” have been identified, including “15” in Paris. .
